Discover Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach punches well above its size. It is the jumping off point for the Whitsunday Islands, sits on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, and has a township full of great food, live music and a genuinely warm, welcoming energy. Once you arrive, you will understand why so many people come for a few days and end up staying much longer.

Don't miss

Seventy-four islands scattered across some of the most beautiful water in the world. Day trips, overnight sailing tours and everything in between depart daily from Airlie Beach.

Consistently rated one of the best beaches on the planet, Whitehaven is an easy day trip and an absolute must. The silica sand, the swirling tidal patterns at Hill Inlet, the colour of the water — it has to be seen to be believed.

A free, stunning saltwater lagoon right in the heart of town, open year round. Perfect for a morning swim before breakfast, or a lazy afternoon spent relaxing.

One of the seven natural wonders of the world is right on your doorstep. Snorkelling and diving tours operate daily from the marina.

Airlie Beach has a great dining scene for a town its size. From relaxed waterfront spots to lively bars and casual cafes, there is something for every mood. Ask us at reception for our current favourites and we will point you in the right direction.

Everything you need is close by, including supermarkets, boutique shops, surf stores and pharmacies. You genuinely do not need a car once you are here.

Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday region sits on the Country of the Gia and Ngaro peoples, the Traditional Owners of this land and sea. We acknowledge their deep and continuing connection to this place and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
